The Bothey Clock Tower
The Bothey Clock Tower
The clock tower at The Bothey in Ottershaw Park, Surrey is an 18th century structure which had fallen into disrepair over the past 20 to 30 years.
The main structure consists of four main supporting timber legs which come up through the house, these had decayed to a point where the structure was unsafe.
After installing a complicated system of scaffolding to support the structure we removed each leg at a time and replaced with green oak timber sections using glass fibre rods and epoxy resin.
We then stripped off all of the lead work and panels encasing the legs, replaced the base to support the new lead and fitted the new oak panels, we then replaced the timber panels under the copper roof, these had been ruined by the weather.

The Henry Moore Project
The Henry Moore Project
The Henry Moore foundation was a very interesting project due to the complex cuts and resin splices that had to been dome.
The sills on the conservatory had started to fall apart due to ill fitting of the gutters above that had allowed the rain water to flow over the gutters and back on to the sills causing them to rot away. The sills therefore all needed replacement.
We started by removing all of the existing glass panels, storing them safely, cutting out the damaged sills and removing the first 250mm of the glazing frames.
We then made and fitted the new sill with the new 250mm glazing sections we previously removed. These were held in place with expoxy resin and carbon fibre rods provided by

Timber Replacement at Green Farm
Timber Replacement at Green Farm
Green Farm is a 16th century medieval hall in Bovingdon which needed a timber replacement at one of its corners due to weathering.
We started by supporting the two sides of the house and removed the damaged timber beam. We then cut and shaped a new beam to fit perfectly underneath the existing section.
We finished by replacing the brick work with reclaimed bricks and lime mortar.

Merlots Old School
Merlots Old School
Merlots is an old school house in Ware that had a very substantial leak in one of its walls that had caused water to penetrate the floor joists.
Our first job was to remove all the floor board and cut out the rotted joists, then replace them with glulam beams which had very intricate splices and joints held together with glass fibre and carbon fibre rods.
